Severe flooding struck Cebu overnight and through all of today, leaving citizens and tourists stranded in vehicles, outside their workplaces, and caught in dangerous currents.
The Cebu City Fire Volunteers (CCFV) have been on the frontlines around the clock, navigating waist-deep water to bring people to safety. Our specialized rescue truck allows flood victims to be quickly loaded into the back for secure transport, where trained emergency medical responders provide immediate care if needed.
What makes these efforts remarkable is that many responders have no proper flood gear—operating instead in canclas and crocs. Yet, their determination to serve has never wavered. They enter the water regardless of conditions, driven by a shared commitment to save lives.
This is what service looks like. This is Cebu. This is us.
